WHAT IS COVID-19 TEST?
SARS-COV-2 PCR (COVID-19) test is based on finding evidence of the virus using Nucleic Acid Amplifcation(NAA) technology.
This Technology allows for detection of even minute amounts of the virus.
It is estimated by different groups that due to sample collection limitations up 30% of the cases will be still missed (false negative).
HOW IS COVID-19 TESTING DONE?
Patient needs to submit a nasopharyngeal(NP) swab (sample collected from nose).
Sample collection occurs drive-thru in parking lot in order to minimize potential exposure.
Our staff will swab patient's nose for covid-19 and any other tests ordered by the doctor.
HOW LONG DOES COVID-19 TEST TAKE TO COME BACK?
Current results turnaround time is about 1-3 business days (36-72hrs).
Please do not call our office for your results - instead make sure you gave us correct cell phone and email.
We will report your results via text and email as soon as we have them!
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST? WILL INSURANCE PAY FOR IT?
All insurers (except TriCare active duty) are covering video visit & testing (copay / deductible may apply).
TriCare active duty are expected to get their testing done @ military facilities or obtain referral from MTF!
Your insurance may deny Covid-19 test for travel or event or employment purposes (re: lack of medical necessity).
