Dr. Kenetra Hix is a Board Certified Family Medicine Doctor with 8 years of experience in the medical field.
Dr. Hix completed her undergraduate studies at Tennessee State University in Nashville receiving her Bachelors of Science in 2004. In 2009 she obtained her Masters of Public Health from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. Right after that she attended University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis receiving her Doctor of Medicine degree in 2014.
Dr. Hix completed her Family Medicine Residency Training Program at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina, in 2018. During her studies, Kenetra received many awards, certificates, internships and scholarships such as: Robert Graham Scholars Program, Health Policy Certificate, Serving the Underserved Certificate, Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society, National Health Service Corp Scholarship, June D. Gorski Scholarship, etc.
Dr. Hix started her professional career as a Research Assistant, progressed as a Nursing Aide, and later became a Staff Physician and Primary Care Physician. She has also conducted global medical missions in Malawi, Nigeria, Nicaragua, El Salvador.
Dr. Hix’s objective is to advance effective relationships between primary care and public health. Her areas of interest include Primary Care, Preventive Medicine, Behavioral health.
